Bread & Beyond: Empowering Lives Through Nutrition and Entrepreneurship
On February 25, 2025, the Rotaract Club of Arellano University (RAC AU) spearheaded the Bread & Beyond: Uniting Nutrition, Care, and Empowerment initiative at the Brgy. Dolores Covered Court in Taytay, Rizal. Designed to address both nutritional deficiencies and economic challenges, the project empowered individuals—especially mothers—by equipping them with the skills to produce fortified bread, particularly Nutribun. More than a nutrition-focused effort, the initiative also introduced participants to small-scale baking enterprises, creating pathways for financial independence and sustainable livelihoods.

This initiative was specifically designed to deliver essential medical services and education to the indigenous communities of Tarlac, proving to be a cornerstone of community service and healthcare advocacy.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Salvador, the AU Rotaract Club School Adviser, who also serves as a staff member at the Bureau of Quarantine. Under his guidance, a team comprising 18 medical practitioners from the Bureau joined forces with Rotaract volunteers to execute this high-impact project. The day began with the team leaving Manila at 6:00 AM and concluded with their return at 9:00 PM, marking a full day dedicated to health service.
