Rotary encourages conversations to foster understanding within and across cultures. We train adults and young leaders to prevent and mediate conflict, and help refugees who have fled dangerous areas.

Spreading Christmas Joy: RC Makati Dasmariñas Celebrates Love and Hope at Kanlungan sa Pasig

The Rotary Club of Makati Dasmariñas, alongside its Rotaract members, brought the true spirit of Christmas to life at Kanlungan sa Pasig, a care facility for children in conflict with the law (CICL) and children at risk (CAR), December 7.

With a theme centered on love, hope, and laughter, the celebration offered more than just gifts and festivities—it became a beacon of community and compassion for approximately 80 children.

RC Makati Dasmariñas empowers the youth through jiu-jitsu

The Art of Subduing: Jiu-Jitsu as a Path to Safety and Peacebuilding

Safety and security are essential to our lives, especially when faced with unforeseen challenges that require quick thinking and protection. A study conducted by Mapua University, School of Engineering, revealed that the Philippines currently experiences a high average monthly crime rate of 30.76. Theft accounts for 31% of these crimes, followed by physical injury, robbery, murder, rape, motorcycle theft, and homicide. While many safety tools exist, such as Dial 911, whistles, pepper sprays, and batons, these may not always be accessible in critical moments. This is where the importance of self-reliance and personal safety skills comes into play.

Hiraya leadership training

This program is in cooperation with Colegio de San Agustin School in Makati where we do an annual Leadership talk in line with their annual one-week student council’s leadership training seminar in preparation for the coming school year. There is also an art contest showcasing “peace in society” and “peace within” as the main theme. This program is aimed to inspire young leaders and create awareness of what is Rotary and its areas of focus.

Big Brother talks in Bahay Pag-asa and Bahay Aruga

This project has been in the pipeline for years and finally has come to fruition. In cooperation with the local government of Pasig, RCMD aids in the rehabilitation and upliftment of the wards of Bahay Pag-asa and Bahay Aruga through monthly inspirational talks and team building.
