RCMD Successfully Charters Rotary Community Corps of Rosario, Cavite
/February 10, 2017 - Our President JP, Past President Joji, Rotarian Annabelle, and Rotarian Baby went to Rosario, Cavite to meet our set of volunteers from Bagbag National High School for our Global Grant Project.
Our club's application for a Global Grant from The Rotary Foundation has led us to form a Rotary Community Corps for their community to sustain the work. We are very proud to say that we have successfully chartered the Rotary Community Corps of Makati Dasmarinas - Rosario Cavite with 12 charter members led by Charter Representative Nita Ratonel, a faculty member at Bagbag National High School whom we have been working with for years.
By grace and the action efforts of PP Joji and Rotarian Baby, we were also able to visit the Mayor's office on the same day. However, since he wasn't in at the time; we met with the City Administrator and she had good news for us! The Sangguniang Bayan's endorsement and Mayor's Memorandum of Agreement with us will be secured on February 13, Monday!
We were also ecstatic to learn that our Global Grant effort will have a second wave of impact -- going forward, it may benefit neighboring communities who also don't have water supply! Our cost estimate matches the standard cost estimate they have for installing a water collection-storage-filtration-distribution system for 1,000 concessionaires; yet our plan will cover 2,000 campus habitats!
Thank you for everyone who lent a helping hand in order to make this project successful! Together, we really can make things happen!
